PM Modi set to launch projects worth Rs 280 crore

On Wednesday evening, Narendra Modi will also address the sixth edition of Aarambh — the conclave of Officer Trainees of the 99th Common Foundation Course.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat on Wednesday for a two-day visit to take part in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations on the occasion of149th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 280 crore.

Modi will arrive in Vadodara on Wednesday evening and head to Ekta Nagar (formerly Kevadia) in Narmada district.The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Deepotsav on the banks of Narmada river in Gora village, across the Statue of Unity (SoU).

Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple infrastructural and development projects, including a 1.5 kilometer walkway from the parking area to the SoU, a trauma centre in Kevadia for emergencies. He will also lay the foundation stone of the much-delayed Museum of Royal kingdoms, which is expected to showcase the history of 562 princely states that signed the treaty of accession with the Union of India at the time of the Partition. The museum, slated to come up near Kevadia is estimated to be built at the cost of Rs 260 crore.

On Wednesday evening, Modi will also address the sixth edition of Aarambh — the conclave of Officer Trainees of the 99th Common Foundation Course. The theme for this year’s programme is “Roadmap for Atma Nirbhar and Viksit Bharat.” The 99th Common Foundation Course includes 653 Officer Trainees from 16 civil services of India and three civil services of Bhutan.

The Prime Minister will stay over at the Circuit House in Kevadia and attend the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations on October 31 after paying floral tributes to Sardar Patel. In order to spruce up the circuit house for the PM’s stay, Narmada District administration has roped in Padmashri Paresh Rathwa, a tribal Pithora artist. An official said, “Pareshbhai has been making Pithora paintings for the last three decades and PM Modi has deep interest in this tribal art, so we decided to get a fresh art work done in the circuit house complex,” an official told The Indian Express.

At the Ekta Diwas event, Modi will also administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and witness Ekta Diwas Parade comprising 16 marching contingents from nine states and one Union Territory police, four Central Armed Police Forces, National Cadet Corps and a marching band. Special attractions include ‘Hell March’ contingent of National Security Guard, daredevil show by Border Security Force and Central Reserve Police Force women and men bikers, a show on combination of Indian martial arts by BSF, piped band show by children and ‘Surya Kiran’ flypast by Indian Air Force, among others.

The area under the Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Governance Authority (SOUADTGA) has been declared a “no fly zone” in view of the security protocol for the Prime Minister.
