Managing Director of Nivea India Neil George advised the students of MICA Ahmedabad Wednesday to be prepared to compete in a global pool of talent. Neil George was presiding over the the 28th annual convocation of the institute. “Let hard work and world class quality be your guiding lights. You are going to compete in a global pool of talent. Right now, there are youngsters like you graduating from Berlin in Germany, Sao Paolo in Brazil, Bangkok in Thailand, The Moscow State University, and the Kelloggs Graduate School of Management. Your customers and employers will assess you against these global citizens. So, if you want to keep the Indian flag flying high, take a pledge to deliver world class quality,” Neil George said. “Predictive analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Technologies like Open AI will make your current education redundant. And I promise you, in 10 years’ time, many of you will not be working in the same industry where you join from campus. And therefore the best solution: be a learner, for life. And when you find expertise in a subject, share it with those around you,” he added. MICA also introduced an award in the name of Prof Jay Trivedi who passed away due to Covid-19 in 2021. The Prof Jay Trivedi Memorial Best Student Award for Digital Communication Management was given to two PGP students who topped all the courses of the DCM specialization — Mahima Ganesh and Hitesh Khanna as runner up — by Prof Trivedi’s wife Shilpa on April 4. “Prof Jay Trivedi was an excellent professor and researcher at MICA. His ready smile, winning ways, and just the highest standards of scholarly achievement in teaching, research, and service will be a living memory for us at all times,” said Shailendra Raj Mehta, president and director, MICA. As many as 215 students graduated in the convocation ceremony.
