MP demands removal of Praful Patel as Daman and Diu administrator

Daman and Diu MP Umesh Patel has demanded removal of BJP-appointed administrator Praful Patel, who has been the administrator of the Union Territory for nearly eight years now, citing “rising corruption”.
The newly-elected independent MP raised his concerns against Praful Patel in the monsoon session of Parliament Monday.
“Praful Patel enjoys the post of the administrator of DD and DNH for the past eight years… According to the government policies, the administrative officers and other officials get transferred after the prescribed time frame for better transparency of work,” he said.
He further alleged that corruption peaked during Praful’s tenure in the union territories.
“Praful Patel should be removed and replaced by an honest and senior IAS officer to curb corruption,” the MP requested.
