Modi on mute

The cyberspace and TV channels get generous doses of Narendra Modi these days. Leading his promotional blitzkrieg,however,is the CM’s office headquarters. These days,visitors to the reception lounge of Swarnim Sankul-I in Gandhinagar,part of the building that houses the CMO and several Cabinet ministers’ offices,are greeted to speeches made by the CM at various occasions. What’s more,a flat screen TV installed in the middle of the reception room continuously plays videos of various functions presided over by Modi. This arrangement was made for the benefit of a wide range of visitors — from farmers to foreign delegates — to take a glimpse into the life of the CM. Its success,however,was marred by a glitch: the DVD had been playing on the mute mode.
