BJPS national spokesman Prakash Javdekar today said that the partys seat tally in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly polls might not have improved further if Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had campaigned there.
Javdekar said this at a press conference here.
Harping on the BJP demand for setting up a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) for probe into the 2G scam,Javdekar alleged that the Congress was running away from setting up JPC even when its own allies were demanding the same. But the BJP will insist on it nonetheless… it was a democratic demand within the ambit of the Constitution,he said.
He added that the resignation drama on corruption was to hush up the real issues. If they really want to fight corruption, the Adarsh files would not have gone missing, he said, adding: They have looted the country. Nation wants to know who is guilty and we want to see them behind the bars… more than two-thirds of the Parliament is demanding it,then why is government shying away from JPC inquiry? he said. He equated the present situation with the 1973-75 Navnirman stir of Gujarat where it took Morarji Desai to go on a fast to end the Congress rule in the state.
On Rahul Gandhis tour of Gujarat,Javdekar congratulated the students for asking him uncomfortable questions and said this really showed anger of younger generation towards the Congress, its establishment and corruption. He added that his party would not take cognisance of Rahuls reported comparison between Modi and Mao.
