Vadodara police claimed to have tracked the missing constable Dinesh Wala after two days based on his cellphone signals.
The cellphone,which he was carrying,was switched on for some time and that led to his location,a senior police officer said.
Dinesh Wala along with six others including an accused of narcotics related case,Narendra Patidar,left for Madhya Pradesh where they had to appear before a local court in Mandsaur. After appearing in the court,the team stopped for dinner near a restaurant in Udaipur at around 11pm on Monday. While rest of the team members including the accused went inside the restaurant Wala stayed outside,but was found missing as soon as the team came out of the restaurant.
We have tracked him and the location has been identified. He would be located soon, Vadodara Police Commissioner Satish Sharma told Indian Express. Late in the evening,the family members of Wala met the police officials to get information about him.
Meanwhile,Sharma has issued a notification banning the cellphones inside the Vadodara Central Jail. Sharma,in his notification,said it was revealed during the investigation that the accused inside the Central Jail were in touch with the anti-social and anti-national elements through their cellphones.
To prevent any damage to the society,the police administration decided to put a ban on the usage of cellphones,SIM cards inside the premises of Central Jail. The notification was issued on October 18 under IPC section 188 and it would remain in effect until any further notice.
