Man held for posting video with speeches of PM, Owaisi

The police note of FIR registered at Jarod police station on Friday, based on the complaint of a resident of Waghodia, said, “Qureshi had posted the video titled ‘15 minute power’ on his Facebook account through his mobile phone… The video contained edited footage of a communal incident with a message that asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ‘suspend’ the police for 15 minutes to show the ‘power’ of the minority community.  The video was posted with the intention of breaching the peace of the society and hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.”

On Saturday, the Jarod police station produced Qureshi in a local court, where he was remanded to judicial custod as the police did not request for his remand.

Qureshi has been booked under IPC sections for uttering words with the deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings in the hearing of that person (298), for indulging in wanton vilification or attacks upon the religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc of any particular group or class or upon the founders and prophets of religion [153(A)(B)].
