The matter has been listed before the court of Justice Vimal K Vyas.
The Narmada district sessions court on November 10 had rejected the regular bail plea of Shakuntala along with two others — Chaitar’s personal assistant Jitendra Vasava and Ramesh Vasava, a farmer. Chaitar along with his wife and the two others are booked in an alleged case of rioting, extortion and assault of forest officials.
In her bail plea before the HC, Shakuntala has submitted that she is a “housewife” and was “merely present at her home”. She has also submitted that she has been wrongly roped in the FIR to pressurise her husband as he is a politician.
