Gujarati film awards for 2023: Karma wins best film, Shubh Yatra named most popular
The winners, comprising actors, technicians, and filmmakers, will receive cash prizes and certificates of merit for their contributions to Gujarati cinema.

The Gujarat government has announced the winners of the 2023 Gujarati Film Awards, honouring outstanding work in 40 categories under the “Gujarati Film Quality-Based Incentive Scheme – 2019.” The winners, comprising actors, technicians, and filmmakers, will receive cash prizes and certificates of merit for their contributions to Gujarati cinema.
The awards aim to promote quality content in Gujarati cinema and encourage creative talent within the industry. The movies released in theatres during the calendar year 2023 were eligible for evaluation. Karma, produced by Neeraj Naik and Chinmay Purohit, and directed by Subramaniam Iyer won the Best Film award. The Second Best Film award was bagged by My Best Friend Daadu, produced and directed by Jashwant Gangani. Best Popular Film was given to Shubh Yatra, produced and directed by Manish Saini. Meanwhile Chetan Dhanani and Brinda Trivedi won Best Actor and Best Actress award for Karma. Best Child Actor was bagged by Vishal Thakkar for My Best Friend Daadu.
The awards ceremony to honour the winners will be held soon.
