Gujarat: One killed as fire breaks out at Jal Aqua Company unit in Bharuch
The blaze spread to a neighbouring B R Agro unit; probe on

One person was killed at Jal Aqua Company after a major fire broke out at the chemical manufacturing unit in Bharuch on Monday morning. The blaze also spread to a neighbouring B R Agro unit. Both the firms were affected by the fire.
Police said that as per fire officials, a short circuit might have led to the blaze.
Officials brought the situation under control after over three hours of firefighting, but the smoke could still be spotted from a distance.
The Jal Aqua Company unit is situated in Panoli GIDC in Ankleswhar. Sources said that 12 firefighters from Pandoli Disaster Prevention and Management Centre were at the site. Employees and labourers of both the units affected by the fire were immediately evacuated.
Ankleshwar police officers cordoned off the roads to allow smooth movement of the fire tenders. Gujarat Pollution Control Board and Forensic Science Laboratory officials also reached the spot and helped in investigations.
Talking about the tragedy, Panoli Police Inspector Shilpa Desai said, “The fire broke out at 7.30 am on Monday and it was brought under control at 12.30 pm. There were 44 employees and labourers working in night shift at Jal Aqua Company, and all of managed to come out, barring one. The charred body of Avnish Yadav (25), who hailed from Bihar and was sleeping in the godown, was recovered later. The fire spread to a neighbouring BR Agro unit due to the winds. The employees of the second unit were also evacuated. The owners of both the companies had reached the spot after learning about the incident. The matter is being investigated. As per fire officials, the fire broke out due to a short circuit.”
