The tremor occurred at 8:47 am near the BSF war memorial that lies beyond the India Bridge in the Khavda region of the district.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 15 km and its epicentre lay about 20 km north-northwest of Khavda, according to Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR).
This is the fifth seismic activity of 3.0 magnitude or more recorded in Kutch district during 2023.
