Gujarat Confidential: Men’s Day

In what was claimed to be a first in a government office, the women officers and staff of the Gujarat State Information Commission celebrated International Men’s Day on Wednesday under the leadership of chief commissioner Dr Subhash Chandra Soni.

A release said, “We are all familiar with the celebrations of International Women’s day, daughters’ day, mothers’ day and so on, but today the women of the Gujarat Information Commission have broken the tradition”.

As part of the celebration, a “video” was screened showing the contribution of men in various fields, and the men present on the occasion were given flowers and chocolates.
