V-C of Central University of Gujarat gets an extension of 1 yr

Days before his five-year term was set to end, the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat (CUG), Prof Rama Shanker Dubey, has been granted a one-year extension by the Union Ministry of Education.

As per the official order issued by the Ministry on Monday, the extension has been granted “under the powers vested by the Central University Act, 2009, by the President of India and the Visitor of Central University of Gujarat.” Dubey’s five-year term was set to end on November 21.

However, the newly issued order extended his tenure for up to one year, or until the appointment of a new V-C.  Meanwhile, Gujarat Vidyapith Vice Chancellor Harshad Patel has been nominated as the president of Gujarat Ganit Mandal for 2025.

He was selected unanimously for the post during the 61st annual convention of the Gujarat Ganit Mandal held at Amreli.
