MAKING A mockery of security arrangements at Women Protection Home here,a minor girl who had gone missing from the home a day earlier but was traced and sent back by police escaped again on Monday morning.
This time, the girl could not be traced on Monday.
The girl, identified as Arti Yadav (15) of Madhya Pradesh, managed to remove iron bars of the window in her room and ran away between 3 am and 5 am,Fatehgunj police said on Monday.
Shobha Barot, the nurse on duty at that time, was reportedly busy dealing with the case of another woman when Yadav slipped out.
Early Sunday morning,Yadav and another girl,Poornima Thakor, had scaled the compound wall of the Home in Nizampura and fled. However,Yadav was found by police near Nayay Mandir area of the city and brought back to the Home.
The girl had made it clear to police she would not stay in the home. We had conveyed this to the superintendent of the Home, Fatehgunj police inspector Nisarg Patel said.
Kamal Pandulkar,Superintendent of the Women Protection Home, said she was in no position to enhance security overnight. We have just one watchman and a nurse on night duty. The state government has to take a call on enhancing security. We cannot do it overnight, Panduklar said.
She,however, said they they had written to the department concerned for repairs of windows and gates of the Home.
Yadva was admitted to the Home on May 26 after her lover deserted her in Surat and she travelled to Vadodara by train.
Barot has filed a fresh missing complaint for Yadav and the police are trying to locate the girl.
