Girl named in suicide note says she was molested

This girl,who is not among the accused but has been referred to in the note by name,alleged on Thursday that Dhara had been molesting her for the past two weeks and on Monday night she and other girls had confronted Dhara following which she committed suicide.

“The girl has said that two weeks ago Dhara had started molesting her and it happened couple of times,” said a police official. The girl,a class X student,told the police that one of the accused girls had slapped Dhara twice when they had gone to discuss the issue with her.

The police said while all the girls,following Dhara’s suicide,have left for their home,they went to this girl’s home in Shapar-Veraval,an industrial estate on the outskirts of Rajkot. The accused girls are yet to be questioned,said the police.

Dhara (17),who hailed from Muli in Surendranagar district,was found dead in her hostel room. She had hanged herself to death. In her suicide note she had mentioned names of six girls for harassing her on Monday night and driving her to suicide.
