Four arrested for blackmail,impersonation

The Ahmedabad DCB on Tuesday arrested four persons,including a woman,for blackmailing affluent older men. They were identified as Pravin Chudasama,his wife Anita,Mahendra Rajput and Bhupendra Soni. The police said the gang would first send Sunita to upscale areas to trap a ‘prey’. She would solicit rides from the victims and take them to deserted areas. There,she would intimate her gang about their whereabouts. The others would arrive at the scene posing as policemen and threaten to book the victim for immoral behaviour or sexual harassment. They would then offer to settle the matter for anything between Rs 1-3 lakh.

After one of the victims approached the DCB,the latter decided to monitor certain areas. On Tuesday,they arrested the four at the Victoria Garden near Ellisbridge. The police have begun further probe.
