Celebrations at the BJP state headquarters in Ahmedabad on Sunday began on a moderate note. It became noisier with growing expectation of a thumping victory in Madhya Pradesh,Rajasthan,Delhi and Chhattisgarh,where election results were being unfolded.

It was a matter of hours before the trends became clear. Party workers basking in the pleasant sun light were busy bursting crackers at every small bit of information on changing trends.

Groups of party workers,senior elected leaders and small time workers; all were keenly watching the news clogged the roads with big and small vehicles for quite sometime as they came to register their presence.

Former Ahmedabad mayor and currently vice-president of the state BJP,Kanaji Thakor,greeted party colleagues on victory. The party ensured victory in elections because of their live connection with the people in poll-bound states. Thakor had toured Rajasthan thrice during the poll campaign.

Later,trends emerging from Chhattisgarh and Delhi election results proved a dampener for ecstatic party workers,who had to apply brakes on celebrations and formed into groups to discuss the consequences for the BJP not being able to win in these state.

Speculations on which side the Aam Admi Party (AAP) swings – Congress or the BJP – soon became prevailing and quite a few people began cursing the villain of the peace (AAP).

A number of Muslim party workers like Raoof Bangalee and others,clad in spotless white kurta-paijama complete with skull cap turned up soon on the one hand,while some local BJP workers came wearing saffron cloths and turban to offer a photo op to lens men around. By 2 pm,they began to disperse and the venue became empty in no time.
