Former minister and BJP MLA Jayesh Radadiya on Saturday inaugurated Shree Vitthalbhai Radadiya Bhojanalaya, a farmers’ canteen, on the yard of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) at Rajkot mandi.
The canteen will offer farmers a full meal at Rs 30.
“Since the time we moved to the new yard in Bedi village in 2014, we didn’t have a farmers’ canteen,” Jayesh Boghra, chairman of Rajkot APMC, said.
“The meal would actually cost Rs 90 but the APMC administration and concerned traders will contribute Rs 30 each so that a farmer will only have to pay Rs 30,” he added.
Jayesh, the sitting MLA from Jetpur, is the current chairman of Rajkot District Cooperative Bank.
His father, late Vitthal Radadiya, who was elected to Lok Sabha thrice, had served as the chairman of Rajkot APMC.
