Faldu gets 2nd term as state BJP chief

R C Faldu was declared elected unopposed as the state BJP president on Tuesday.

R C Faldu was declared elected unopposed as the state BJP president on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by BJP national general secretary Thawarchand Gahlot at the party office here after he completed the formal polling process.

This is his second consecutive three-year term for Faldu as the state BJP chief.

He filled his nomination form in the presence of national BJP vice-president Parshottam Rupala,who seconded his candidature.

Faldu is a Leuva Patel from Jamnagar in Saurashtra region,which returned MLAs to the Assembly in sizeable numbers in the polls held last year.

“I have full confidence in my Team Gujarat of 43 lakh party workers that it will come out with highest number of seats in the 2014 general elections,” he told reporters after his election.

The state BJP is busy preparing for a mega celebration on the party’s foundation day on April 6,which will be attended by the party’s national president Rajnath Singh.
