Fake currency racket busted,3 arrested

The Special Operation Group busted an inter-state fake currency racket on Tuesday and arrested three persons from Ahmedabad.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) busted an inter-state fake currency racket on Tuesday and arrested three persons from Ahmedabad. The team also seized fake currency notes of the face value of Rs 2 lakh from them,who were allegedly bringing in from West Bengal.

The detainees have been identified as Noor Islam Sikander Sheikh,Riyauddin Shaukat Ali Sheikh and Babar Anish Sheikh,all from Malda Tehsil in West Bengal.

The SOG officials said they came to Ahmedabad on February 4 along with the mastermind Santu alias Mohun Rehman Sheikh of Malda in Howrah Express. They brought 200 fake currency notes with denomination of Rs 1,000.

According to the SOG,the alleged West Bengal gang took shelter in a rented house in Ambika Nagar society at Thaltej area.

The SOG has begun an extensive search operation to trace the mastermind allegedly hiding in West Bengal.
