An eight-foot-long crocodile was on Tuesday rescued from Vadodara’s Lalbaug area by the volunteers of the Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA).

Around 9.30 am, the local residents informed the GSPCA that they had spotted a crocodile near the Lalbaug water tank, close to the SRPF gate. GSPCA volunteers Sandeep Thakor and Sanjay Telang reached the spot and informed the forest department about the crocodile’s presence in the area.

During the rescue, the crocodile tried to resist and even turned over in an attempt to leap at the volunteers but was caught eventually. GSPCA member Raju Bhavsar said, “Our volunteers rushed to the spot immediately after we received the call. The crocodile was handed over to the forest department after being rescued.”
