Cong MLA demands more CT scan machines at Civil and V S Hospitals

In a letter to the state government, Sheikh said that patients had to wait for several days for availability of CT machines for examination of their ailments because there was just one machine each at Civil and VS hospitals.

Dariapur Congress MLA Gayasuddin Sheikh has demanded adequate number of CT scan machines and ventilators at Civil and V S Hospitals, which are visited by a large number of people from the city, other parts of the state aside from people from the neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

In a letter to the state government, Sheikh said that patients had to wait for several days for availability of CT machines for examination of their ailments because there was just one machine each at Civil and VS hospitals. He wanted the state government to provide special budget for the purchase of machines for providing better health facilities.

He also wants MA Amrutam health scheme, which is available currently only for a few diseases like, kidney, heart, tuberculosis and cancer only, to be available for all type of ailments. The state government gives Rs. 2 lakh for specialised treatment to diseases under this scheme.

The legislator also demanded to stop recruitment on fixed wages, saying this amounted to exploitation of youths in the state. Sheikh demanded preparing town planning(TP) schemes for Lambha, Ramol, Maktampura, Vatva, Sarkhej and Danilimda wards to provide sewage, drinking water and civic amenities to the residents of these areas.

He also demanded setting up of monitoring cell in each district for strict implementation of prohibition in the state.
