Come January 2, Ahmedabad’s Sarangpur flyover to remain closed for 1.5 years
Police on Monday notified the closure as part of the phase-wise work of the Ahmedabad railway station redevelopment plan.

The Ahmedabad City Police Monday notified the closure of the Sarangpur flyover for a period of one-and-a-half years as part of the phase-wise work on the Ahmedabad railway station redevelopment plan.
The notification, issued on December 27 and made public on Monday, said the Sarangpur Railway Over Bridge (ROB) will be demolished and another one will be built in its place. The notification said the bridge will remain closed between January 2, 2025 and June 30, 2026.
Giving alternate routes for the 200-metre-long bridge, the notification gave four options.
For those travelling from Gita Mandir and Gandhi Road, they can go towards Kagdapith police station and then head to Anupam Bridge to Anupam cinema and then choose their route.
Another route is for those wishing to go from Gita Mandir to Kalupur Circle. They can take the one-way on the Kalupur road from Sarangpur Circle to the Moti Mahal Hotel and turn accordingly.
Those coming towards Sarangpur bridge from Rakhial and Odhav can turn towards the new Cotton crossroads from Rakhial crossroads and then cross the Anupam bridge and choose their route towards Kankaria and Gita Mandir.
Another route is there for those coming towards Sarangpur Bridge from Rakhial and Odhav, with the intention of going to Kalupur Circle or Kalupur Bridge. They can head to the Kamdar Maidan crossroads, go to Chartoda Kabrastan, pass the Saraspur Gurudwara, and access the Kalupur bridge.
