Civic body to give waste disposal carts a makeover

The move comes after Vadodara Mayor Balkrishna Shukla announced that the city would be made clean and the mission would continue for the next two years.

Senior officials said changes have been made in the size of the existing bin carts,which have six compartments.

“Instead of the present iron bins,the new bins will be made of moulded HDPE virgin plastic. We have also observed that the wheels of these carts are getting damaged.”

He added: “So,we are planning to have better quality wheels of bigger sizes. The initiative will help in the proper segregation and easy disposal of the waste,” said an official at VMC’s Waste Disposal department.
