Parents of an 11-year-old girl, who went missing from a marriage ceremony on January 28,have requested the state police chief to order CID (crime) to probe the case since the police have not been able to trace the child for a week now. The child,Vishwa Patel, had gone to the marriage ceremony at Mira Mangal Apartments in Satellite area along with his father Suresh Patel, who left the function midway to attend an urgent meeting in his office. He left behind Vishwa with her friends after which the girl went missing. Police have spoken to Vishwas friends who said they had last seen her with her father. Police have also questioned other relatives, residents of the housing society and even hawkers on the road but have got no leads so far. DGP Chitranjan Singh said,The police are investigating all possible angles but the case seems very strange. The girl went missing from the ceremony and not a single person noticed her. The police have examined the video footage but the girl was found nowhere in it. The Investigating Officer said Vishwas family members, friends, neighbours and even shopkeepers have denied seeing her there. Parents suspect the child might have been kidnapped. The DGP said CID (Crime) has been asked to help police.
