Businessman,son shot at; escape unhurt

Three motorcycle-borne miscreants opened fired at a local businessman and his son at their office in the Manki complex on the Waghodia Road on Wednesday afternoon. No one was injured in the attack. According to the police,the assailants were armed with two countrymade revolvers and one pistol. “It looks like a case of business rivalry,though we are yet to find out the exact reason behind the attack,” said ACP A J Patel.

Eyewitnesses said 3 rounds were fired at Bhavan Bharwad and his son,Jatin and both of them escaped unhurt. All the assailants,who had come on a bike were wearing mask.

Sources said Bharwad is close to builder Shailesh Sotta,who has allegedly been involved in several controversial land deals in the city.
