BSF called in for security during Yatra

In addition to security arrangements by State Police for the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra,the state on Monday deployed the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur area of Ahmedabad.

In addition to security arrangements by State Police for the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra,the state on Monday deployed the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur area of Ahmedabad.

The BSF,which carried out a flag march in Ahmedabad on Monday,will provide security to the temple and the three main chariots of the deity for three days till the rath yatra ends on the night of July 10.

Also,the State DGP has called for six more IPS officers — Kutch SP Bipin Ahire,Surendranagar SP Raghavendra Vatsa,Narmada SP P K Mall,Surat city DCP M R Chaudhary,SRPF Commandant R M Pandey and retired IPS officer AI Bunetto — to aid the Ahmedabad Police.

In addition to this,four trainee IAS officers will be also deployed with the Ahmedabad Crime Branch in the moving bandobast with the chariots,elephant chariots and trucks.
