Bootlegger’s arrest solves murder case after 8 yrs

Sahdev Tomar,who was arrested from the Bapunagar area on October 1 for allegedly carrying foreign liquor in his car,reportedly confessed to the murder of notorious criminal Pravin Parmar in 2001,during his 10-day custody. According to the DCB,Sahdev and his friends Mukesh Marwadi,Kanu,Pandit and Rajendra Tomar had attacked Parmar in February 2001 near his chawl at Anchhbhai ni Chali at Saraspur.

Later they packed Parmar’s body in an Ambassador car and took it to the Naroda-Dahegam Highway.

They reportedly stabbed him again and pumped two bullets in his chest before burying the body near the highway.

Sahdev was previously caught under PASA and was lodged in the Junagadh jail. He was also held under the Arms Act.

Sahdev and Rajendra (who owned a canteen at the Kalupur railway station) became friends when the former used to come to the Kalupur station on parole. Rajendra and Pravin stayed in one chawl. Pravin was an infamous criminal in the area and was earlier held for killing a Muslim man at the Kalupur railway station five years ago. Marwadi was in jail with Sahdev in 1998. Kanu and Pandit worked at Rajendra’s canteen.
