Asaram Bapu on Thursday insinuated that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were behind framing him in the sexual assault case. Without naming the Congress leaders,Asaram said,I am not against any party but people tell me that it is at the insistence of madam and her son that this is happening. For four-and-a-half years,those behind (religious) conversions are getting their support. The period coincides with his legal troubles. After an FIR was filed against him,a section of the BJP backed Asaram,with party leader Uma Bharti tweeting that he was paying the price for taking on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul. Asked about BJPs support at Bhopal Airport Thursday,Asaram lost his cool and said,No party is supporting me. Dont harass me. His supporters got into a scuffle with the media and shouted slogans. Asaram was in Bhopal to attend the funeral of his son Narayan Sais father-in-law,Dev Krishnanis,who died early Thursday. At another interaction,Asaram said there was an attempt to frame him by planting the minor girls dupatta and hair in his room. He said her friends had been pressured by the police. How fair is it to frame an old man like this? he said. He said he had the full support of Hindu saints who wanted to accompany him to Delhi,but he had declined the same. He said he was ready to go to jail,but after learning of the conspiracy against him,he would not have any food or water there since there could be attempt to damage my brain. After he dragged the Gandhis into the controversy,the Congress,which has so far avoided taking a stand on the issue,slammed him.
