AIIMS, Rajkot gets anthropometry lab

An anthropometry laboratory, which facilitates scientific study of measurements and proportions of a human body, was inaugurated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot Monday.

AIIMS, Rajkot Executive Director Prof CDS Katoch inaugurated the laboratory, days after a body plethysmography machine was installed on the campus that is being developed on the outskirts of the city.

The lab would help to assess malnourishment, growth retardation and obesity, among children also and take corrective measures.

The laboratory will also supplement forensic science analysis for detection of crime, a release stated.
