Ahmedabad stockbroker found dead with gunshot wound, suicide note, but weapon missing
Police said the daughter told them that she had seen two unidentified men outside their home moments before the gunshot was heard.

The Ahmedabad Rural Police are probing a suspected suicide case that has come under scanner after a stockbroker was found dead with a gunshot wound and a suicide note in his pocket — but no weapon.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night in the Bopal area of Ahmedabad. According to police, Kalpesh Tudiya’s 14-year-old daughter heard a gunshot around 8:45 pm from inside their home. When she went upstairs to check, she found her father’s body in the bedroom. She then video-called her mother and showed her the scene.
Tudiya’s wife rushed back home and took him to Saraswati Hospital, where he was declared dead. However, the police were informed more than an hour later, around 10 pm.
DySP Neelam Goswami told mediapersons on Wednesday that a suicide note was recovered from the deceased’s pocket at the hospital. “He had a gunshot wound,” she said, adding that the police first visited the hospital and then the house.
However, when a team from Bopal police reached the residence, they could not find the firearm used. “This is being treated as an alleged suicide but the missing weapon is a significant concern,” said DySP Goswami to The Indian Express.
Police said the daughter told them that she had seen two unidentified men outside their home moments before the gunshot was heard. She said the men drove away shortly afterward.
Investigators are now working on multiple fronts: tracing the missing weapon, verifying the contents of the suicide note, and identifying the two men seen near the residence at the time of the incident.
An Accidental Death (AD) report has been registered at Bopal police station. Further investigation is underway.
This is the second case in Ahmedabad in three days where a child witnessed the death of a parent. On August 4, an eight-year-old boy saw his mother kill his police constable father before dying by suicide at the Danilimda police lines.
