ACB arrests FSSAI officer for taking Rs 25,000 bribe
The complainant in this case is a consultant who helps clients obtain food safety licences. The complainant had made an online application for a client in January.

The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday said it has arrested Class-I officer Rajendrakumar Hira Mahavadiya, the Joint Director (Technical) of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). As per an ACB statement, Mahavadiya was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.
The complainant in this case is a consultant who helps clients obtain food safety licences. The complainant had made an online application for a client in January. When the complainant met the accused, the latter sought a bribe of Rs 25,000. The complainant approached the ACB and filed a complaint. An ACB team set a trap at the FSSAI office on CG Road in Ahmedabad. The accused was subsequently caught accepting the bribe.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
