A mechanical engineer, Mayank Nayak has accompanied every BJP yatra since 2002
A devoted party worker since 1992, Nayak belongs to Mehsana district's Lakhvad village from where he started his career in electoral politics. A diploma-holder in mechanical engineer, he has also been elected as delegate of Mehsana Taluka Panchayat from Lakhvad.

Mayank Nayak (52), the president of OBC Morcha of Gujarat BJP, enjoys the reputation of being a grassroot-level party worker who has accompanied every yatra of the party right from the 2002 Gaurav Yatra of then chief minister Narendra Modi.
A devoted party worker since 1992, Nayak belongs to Mehsana district’s Lakhvad village from where he started his career in electoral politics. A diploma-holder in mechanical engineer, he has also been elected as delegate of Mehsana Taluka Panchayat from Lakhvad.
Currently, besides being the state BPP OBC Morcha chief, Nayak is also the in charge of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency represented by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Earlier, he had functioned as the party’s in charge in Patan district tand Patan Lok Sabha constituency.
A member of RSS and trustee of Shamlaji Temple, he had
also worked for BJP in West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Nayak said, “I am surprised that my party has given such a big responsibility to an ordinary worker like me. It gives a clear message that one should keep working for the party. My nomination is indeed a surprise for me.”
On Nayak’s nomination, a senior party leader said, “His is a well deserving nomination. Nayak has been a selfless party worker for years now.”
