A day after assault,BJP worker dies

A city BJP worker who was assaulted late Friday night succumbed to his injuries on Saturday at V S hospital. Jayanti Vadol alias Jokham (47) was allegedly attacked by six to seven assailants with swords and knives near his residence at Ambawadi,according to an FIR filed by the deceased’s son Prithvi at Ellisbridge police station. Police inspector J R Raval said the assailants were relatives of the victim.

1 more day of CBI custody for taxman

A special court Saturday extended CBI custody by a day for additional commissioner of income tax Chander Sain Bharti,who was arrested by the agency last week for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30 lakh from a builder.
