(File image) Domestic markets plunged amid volatility on Friday dragged by Adani Group and metal stocks. BSE benchmark Sensex slumped 259.52 points or 0.41 per cent to close the week at 62,979.37, while broader NSE Nifty50 slipped 105.75 points, or 0.56 per cent to 18,665.50.
Adani Group stocks were among the top losers in today’s session, after a report said US authorities are looking into what representations Adani Group made to its American investors following the Hindenburg Research report. Adani Enterprises plunged 7 per cent, while Adani Ports slumped 4.44 per cent.

Broader markets also extended the losses as Nifty Midcap Select fell 1 per cent, Nifty Midcap 50 plunged 0.92 per cent, Nifty Midcap 100 slumped 0.80 per cent, and Nifty Midcap 150 tanked 0.75 per cent.
Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco, BPCL, Hindalco, Divis Lab, Grasim, Tata Steel, ONGC, Tata Motors, and HDFC Life were the top losers today.
On the other hand, stocks that performed the best were IndusInd Bank, Dr Reddy, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, HCLTech, HDFC, Bajaj Auto, Tata Consumer and Nestle India.
