Kerala to hold International GenAI Conclave from today
The event, spread over two days, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore AI's transformative potential and its impact on society and the economy.
The Industries Department has also reached out to over 200 startups in the state with AI related functioning and also to the IT/ITeS & MSME fraternity as well.
The Government of Kerala on Thursday (July 11) will kickstart the International Gen AI Conclave to facilitate discussions around the burgeoning generative AI market in India.
The event, spread over two days, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore AI’s transformative potential and its impact on society and the economy. The event will be held at the Lulu Grand Hyatt Bolgatty International Convention Center in Kochi.
The event will feature a mix of keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

The International Gen AI Conclave underscores Kerala’s commitment to fostering innovation and embracing transformative technologies. Partnering with IBM, this initiative aims to position Kerala as a hub for Generative AI innovation, catalysing economic growth and driving the state’s vision for Industry 4.0 readiness. The conclave will also showcase Kerala’s ecosystem for investment, infrastructure, workforce, and trade policies.
In a press statement, the state government said that AI adoption aligns with its goal of efficient service delivery, ensuring inclusive and transparent governance.
“The conclave aims to create a forum for business decisions, learning, networking, and partnerships, benefiting a wide range of enterprises, including technology-based startups and MSMEs. The event will also highlight Kerala’s advancements in AI education and research, with numerous institutions offering courses in AI and Robotics, and a state-wide program to train secondary school teachers in AI tools,” the statement added.
Former NASA astronaut and technology executive Steve Lee Smith will be a key speaker, sharing insights from his space missions. Other notable speakers include industry leaders and experts from IBM, Sevilla FC, Edinburgh University, McKinsey, S&P Global Market Intelligence, and more. These speakers will provide diverse perspectives on AI’s transformative potential and ethical considerations.
