A day after Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced its MD and CEO Rajesh Gopinathan’s resignation, his successor K Krithivasan Friday said that the company will not make any drastic changes in its approach to customers and employees.

Speaking to the media via phone, CEO-designate Krithivasan said: “I don’t expect to see a great strategy change or organisational change coming in the immediate future.”

TCS will continue to focus on transforming the customers and bringing technology to the centre of their business, he added.

Gopinathan resigned from his post on Thursday and his resignation is effective September 16, 2023. TCS’ board has nominated Krithivasan as the CEO-designate with effect from March 16.

The outgoing CEO, during the presser, said that he decided to move out before the new financial year to give more space to the new chief executive officer. He said he wants to make sure that the transition is smooth, and that he would be available to the Krithivasan 100 per cent during the transition period.

TCS has been built on two pillars of customer centricity and employees, Gopinathan said in the presser, adding that he wants to double down on making customer relationships stronger.

“It is a day of mixed feelings,” said Gopinathan. He said that it has been a fantastic journey with TCS and thanked TCS’ customers for reposing trust in the company.
