Toyota has also taken the chance to update the Fortuner lineup with exterior cosmetic enhancements that consist of dark grey alloy wheels, smoked head lights and tail lights, along with new chrome inserts for the fog lamp housings. Changes to the interior include all-black interiors for the 3.0 litre models. There is now also a double-DIN touch screen stereo which also has built in satellite navigation and voice recognition with steering mounted controls.
The Toyota Fortuner is a much loved SUV in the market, thanks to it’s dominating road presence, premium appeal and hassle free maintenance and ownership. And there is no doubt that the introduction of the 4×4 automatic model is going to further the SUV’s appeal in the market.
In terms of competition, the Fortuner AT 4×4 competes against automatic 4×4 versions of rivals such as the Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ssangyong Rexton.
