Veena Devi biography

Veena Devi is a political leader from Bihar and a member of the Rashtriya Lok Janshati Party. She is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Bihar’s Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency. She was born on April 22, 1967, in Darbhanga, Bihar, to her parents, Upendra Prasad Singh and Sabujkala Devi. She is matriculate and is married to Muzzfarpur MLC, Dinesh Prasad Singh.

In the 2010 Vidhan Sabha election, she was elected as a BJP MLA in Gaighat. On the BJP ticket, she had run for the Vidhan Sabha in 2010 from the Ghaighat Seat. She was the former Muzaffarpur Chairperson. In 2001, she assumed the role of district chair for Muzaffarpur, and in 2006, she was appointed deputy chair.

She later joined the LJP and won the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Vaishali seat. She was one of the five MPs who voted for Pashupati Nath Paras to be the successor of Lok Janashakti Party after party founder Ram Vilas Paswan, which resulted in the party getting bifurcated into two parties, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party and Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas).
