ABOUT Neetu Singh

Neetu Kapoor: A Legacy in Bollywood Neetu Kapoor, born Harneet Kaur on July 8, 1958, is a veteran Bollywood actress whose career spans several decades. Her debut in Suraj (1966) marked the beginning of a journey that would see her evolve from a youthful ingenue to a respected character actress. Early roles in films like Do Kaliyaan (1968) showcased her versatility. However, it was Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) that propelled her to prominence. The 1970s witnessed Kapoor's rise to stardom with memorable performances in critically acclaimed films such as Deewaar, Khel Khel Mein, Kabhi Kabhie, and Amar Akbar Anthony. Her powerful portrayal in Kaala Patthar (1979) earned her a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress nomination. Other notable films include Parvarish, Jaani Dushman, and Yaarana. Kapoor's career took a hiatus after Ganga Meri Maa (1983). After a nearly three-decade break, Kapoor returned to the screen in Love Aaj Kal (2009), followed by a leading role in the acclaimed Do Dooni Chaar (2010), which garnered her a Zee Cine Award. Subsequent appearances in films like Besharam (2013) and Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022) demonstrated her enduring appeal and acting prowess. The latter earned her another Filmfare Best Supporting Actress nomination, underscoring her continued relevance in the industry. In 2012, she was inducted into the Walk of the Stars in Mumbai, cementing her place in Bollywood history.
