January 08, 2016 6:26 am

Coimbatore, Jan 08 (ANI): A 48-day temple elephant rejuvenation camp began in Tamil Nadu in which thirty-two temple elephants from across the state have been brought to the rejuvenation camp in Coimbatore city. Taking care of the elephant is important. Feeding them daily with medicines and food is necessary to keep them healthy and strong. This is the first time I am working with the camp. The elephants would be given special food, medicines, tonic, and would be offered different forms of exercises and health check-ups. The work by the organizing committee is very beneficial for the elephants as they are being treated well and trained veterinary doctors are available to look after them. Feeding them and other facilities are beneficial to the elephants. There are veterinary doctors who will be checking on the health of the elephants on a regular basis. Apart from Coimbatore, the Tamil Nadu districts, including Tirupur, the Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri, account for a substantial elephant population.
