A new year means we finally get to take the trends we’ve been dying over on the runways and work them into our own wardrobes. Here are our favourite new trends that are sure to hit it big in 2016. Are you ready for this? We will be seeing a lot of Spanish influence in 2016- from bold red hues to toreador influences.

2016 is going to be all about the exposed shoulder. Cut-outs will add a little more drama to the look.

Washed out plaids are also going to make a comeback in spring.

Carwash pleats are passe. 2016 will be the year of tinier, tighter knife pleats.

Replacing the bucket bag will be the half-moon bag. Even designers who made the bucket bag a trend have now set their sights on the half-moon silhouette.

As an alternative to the high-waist pants that we all adore, we will see a lot of paperbag-waist pants making the rounds in the fashion circuit in 2016.

From dresses to skirts, 2016 will be nothing but net. We love this look as it adds dimension to your outfit and gives a soft feminine touch to your look.

There's also going to be loads of mesh in 2016. Keep an eye out.

We kid you not when we say Orange is the New Black. The colour will continue to rule the runway this year.

2016 is also going to be the year of the comy shoes- the mule or the slipper shoes.

We are also going to see a lot of X-necklines in 2016. It gives any feminine dress an edgy appeal, don't you think?
