Baar Baar Dekho vs Freaky Ali box office collection: Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra film sprints ahead

Baar Baar Dekho starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles is giving a tough fight to Freaky Ali with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Even though both films are of different genres, Baar Baar Dekho clearly has an edge over Freaky Ali due to its stellar star cast and music. Baar Baar Dekho is expected to collect somewhere between Rs 8-9 crores. The movie saw around 30-35% occupancy on its opening day. On the other hand, Freaky Ali is expected to earn Rs 1-2 crore and see 10-15% occupancy. Baar Baar Dekho is the directorial debut of Nitya Mehra, whereas Freaky Ali is directed by Sohail Khan.

Baar Baar Dekho is made on a budget of around Rs 50 crores which includes the cost of production (Rs 35 crore) and print and advertising costs (Rs 12-15 crore). The film is expected to do well in the weekend and will stay ahead of Freaky Ali. The total budget of Freaky Ali is around Rs 19 crores. It got less number of screens as compared to Baar Baar Dekho. BBD will do well at the multiplexes in metro cities. The single screen audience is less likely to go for Baar Baar Dekho, except of course for Kala Chashma.

Produced by Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Baar Baar Dekho explores a love story through time travel. Both Katrina and Sidharth are sharing the screen for the first time. The film is crucial to Katrina’s career as the actress did not taste success in the last two years, with her last two releases - Phantom and Fitoor. Sidharth, on the other hand, had a good year at the box office with Kapoor & Sons, and BBD would add to the list.

Freaky Ali has its hope tied upon the sole performance of Nawazuddin. Nawaz has given us some stunning character performances in last few years. But will he live up to the expectations of people in his first solo-hero commercial outing? That, only time will tell.

Baar Baar Dekho is high on style quotient, glamour and beautiful locales. It has all the elements of a typical Dharma Production film. Each character is dressed beautifully. The film is packed with some amazing dance numbers. However, it is too early to predict its box office performance.

Freaky Ali stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the leading role. He plays a common man trying to excel at the game of golf, which is considered to be a rich man’s game. Besides Nawazuddin, the movie also stars Amy Jackson and Arbaaz Khan.The film is made on a low budget and targets a certain audience.
