India now the third largest traffic source for Pornhub

The annual Pornhub Insights data, says the site used up 1,892 petabytes of data, “that’s equivalent to storage on all the iPhones sold in 2015”. That is the not the only staggering number and you should take a look at the infographic below.

The strange thing here is that Pornhub is not even the largest pornsite in the world, ranked 65th among all sites globally and 100th in India as per Alexa.com. For instance, Xvideos.com is ranked 20 in India.

Indians are also watching porn for longer and added over a minute to their now 9:30 average since last year”.  Also, Indian porn is among the top searches in UK’s top relative searches, prompting Pornhub to conclude this is because of the “sizable Indian population residing there”.

In India, search terms ‘Japanese’ and ‘Indonesia’ made their way into the top 10. But it is no surprise that Sunny Leone is the top searched porn star in the country. Pornhub is also attributing Sunny’s increasing popularity for the increase in traffic out of India. Given that she is also the most searched name on Google out of India, we can now safely conclude who rules the Internet in India.

Also, Pornhub data shows that 30 per cent of Indian users are women, up over 10 per cent from last year. Another interesting factoid is the fact that there was a 15 per cent drop in traffic out of India during the month of Ramzan.

Plus, 60 per cent of the traffic from India is mobile, a jump of 15 per cent over last year.
