A 20-year-old Dalit girl’s body was found hanging from a tree about 200 metres from her house in Jalesar police station area of Etah district, police said Saturday. The girl’s father lodged a complaint with the police alleging that four men of a family from his village had raped his daughter before killing and hanging her body from the tree.
The police have registered the case but said that the autopsy report does not mention any injury on private parts or other parts of the girl’s body. The report has stated death, that happened Friday afternoon, as caused due to hanging, Aligarh range DIG, Govind Agarwal said. Slides of vaginal swabs have been sent for laboratory test to get confirmed report if the girl was raped, he added.

Police have invoked SC/ST Act against the four accused, who are yet to be arrested. Circle Officer, Jalesar area, Kalyan Singh said the father has named Ankit Singh, his brother Amit and their cousins Kailash and Praveen for abducting his daughter when she was alone in the house.
