A 32-year-old man was admitted to civic-run Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray trauma care hospital on Sunday following an alert from the International airport authorities that he may be a case of suspected Ebola virus disease.
Manoj Maurya, who arrived from Nigeria, was admitted in the hospital’s isolation ward. The hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr Shashikant Wadekar, said, “There are no strong symptoms. But we will conduct the required tests.”
Doctors said his blood samples would be sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune.
