The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned hearing on a plea filed against bail of RJD leader and former Siwan MLA Mohammad Shahabuddin. The court scheduled the hearing for Wednesday.

The Apex Court also pulled up Bihar government for showing urgency to cancel Shahabuddin’s bail and said that same urgency should have been shown before. The decision was taken after Shahabuddin’s lawyer asked for more time to respond as he alleged a media trial was going on against his client.

Meanwhile, Prashant Bhushan told the bench that Shahabuddin had 45 criminal cases filed in his name and was convicted in 10 of them. Bhushan also said that he was a serious threat to the society.
