Sangrur AAP MP Mann clarifies stand on govt teachers

SANGRUR MP Bhagwant Mann addressed protesting teachers on Sunday after a video purportedly showed him “making fun of government school teachers”. He extended his support to teachers while clarifying that his stand had been against the education system.

The teachers, who are seeking jobs as elementary trained teachers (ETT) had burned effigies of Mann and AAP member Gurpreet Ghuggi after the video surfaced.

“I have high regard for teachers. My father is also a retired government teacher. The video which is being circulated on social media has been distorted. I was replying in a Punjab Dialogue event about the Education system which needs to be corrected and not about government teachers,” said Mann.
