The post-mortem report of Ryan International School student Devansh Kakrora does not indicate he was sexually assaulted before death, said police Monday, two days after the child’s father raised the suspicion.

Delhi Police chief B S Bassi said the post-mortem report received from AIIMS was being studied. “An initial reading of the post-mortem report does not suggest sexual assault. The death was due to drowning. We will correlate the findings of the autopsy report with investigation into the matter,” added Bassi.

Devansh’s father, Ramheet Meena, met Bassi in the afternoon and expressed doubts over the investigation. He insisted on a CBI probe into the death of his son, a Class I student of the school in south Delhi. Devansh was found in a water tank on the school premises on January 30.

On Saturday, Meena had alleged his son was sexually assaulted and done to death. “I saw the body. There were some injury marks and cotton on his private parts. The principal has been threatening me since the beginning, saying that keeping quiet will be good for me,” Meena had alleged. “He was done to death,” he had insisted.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said based on the report of a magisterial probe ordered by the Delhi government into the child’s death, there were enough indications to suggest it was a “heinous crime”. Investigation so far has “ignored” the observations of the child’s parents, he added.

Sisodia has termed as “conspiratorial” alleged attempts on the part of the school management to give an impression that Devansh was a “special child” with a “tendency” of running away from the classroom.

Meanwhile, investigators have found from CCTV footage of the school campus that Devansh was rushed to hospital about an hour after he was last seen. “Devansh was last spotted alive by a camera in the lobby of the school at 12.16 pm. At 1.20 pm, CCTV visuals show school staff rushing him towards the parking area. There is no sign of any movement in Devansh’s body in that frame,” said an officer.
