Two Delhi Waqf Board members on Wednesday announced their resignation from the body alleging “corruption” and “irregularities in appointments” in the regime of present chairman AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, who denied the charges.
Members, Mufti Ejaj Arshad Qazmi and Chaudhary Sharif Ahmad told reporters that they have resigned from the membership of the Board and sent their resignation letters to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.

The duo levelled allegations of “corruption” and “irregularities in appointments” under the regime of present chairman and AAP MLA from Okhla Amantullah Khan.
The Board is under scanner for the alleged irregularities in Khan’s chairmanship. The Anti-Corruption Branch of Delhi government is probing a complaint of irregularities.
Refuting the allegations, Khan accused the members of working “at the behest of” Lt Governor.
“It’s a new ploy and they are colluding with LG. They wanted me to serve their interests which I refused. Everything will be clear in next few days,” Khan said.
